Carol Pearce

Carol Pearce was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has loved animals from the time she could take her first steps, having a pet pony when she was two years old.

She attended university intending on being a veterinarian, and found her passion working as a large animal vet tech. Carol met Julian while saving calves and the two soon married and moved to England (Julian’s home town). Years later the two moved back to California and started creating goat cheese. Carol soon realized her passion lie in saving animals, and soon The Sanctuary of Soledad was created.


Anaïs ganouna

Anaïs Ganouna is a Digital Marketing Strategist specializing in purpose-driven brands. Her boutique consulting firm consists of a team of experts with over 50 years of collective experience in brand messaging, marketing, social media, and content creation. Her work has been featured in numerous high-profile publications and websites including: InStyle, Forbes, Elle Decor, CNN Travel, Travel & Leisure, Harper’s Bazaar, etc. Anaïs sits as not only a board member for The Sanctuary but heads up the social media marketing strategy behind the charity.


Julian pearce

Julian Pearce was born and raised in United Kingdom and his education includes : animal physiology, dairy science, farm animal raising, general management systems and has a specialist knowledge of Pre ruminants. Julian has been involved with agriculture his entire adult working life, advising at farm level and helping livestock farmers improve standards for their livestock in housing, feeding systems and general management. After working for several agriculturally related companies in the UK, Julian came to the USA in the early 1980s and met Carol while saving calves. In the Mid 90s through to 2000’s, Julian and Carol made goat cheese in the U.K., which was well established brand and won many awards at all of the major cheese competitions throughout the U.K. In 2006 Julian and Carol came back to the USA and set up a small dairy goat herd and became a well known manufacturer of goat cheese and other goat milk related products. At the same time, Julian and Carol started rescuing goats and subsequently gave up milking and became a full animal sanctuary, ceased breeding and formed a 501(c) 3.


Beau Dunn

Beau Dunn is highly regarded in the fields of contemporary art, acting, fashion, beauty and collaborating with brands as a model, digital influencer, and ambassador. She is a dedicated supporter, volunteer artist and member of The Art of Elysium Charity, and the co-founder of Cure Lipedema, a charitable organization she pioneered with Dr. Karen Herbst to find a cure for women who suffer from a chronic disorder or adipose tissue known as Lipedema. Beau's knowledge and years of philanthropy have led her to taking on a board position at The Sanctuary at Soledad - with a great love for animals, we are so excited to have Beau on board. 


Sabrina Sandoval

Sabrina Sandoval is a public relations + events specialist. Through her work in entertainment and lifestyle PR, she has established relationships with celebrities, brands and key media players. Sabrina has landed top-tier coverage in print + digital outlets including Vogue, Instyle, Forbes, Business Insider, Huff Post, Shape, Self, and US Weekly, to name a few.                                                             Her love for dogs developed when she was young and she now supports and advocates for the proper treatment of all animals. Sabrina currently lives in LA with her Husband and two fur babies, Tito and Gibson.

Maya Benperlas- One of our rescue partners has a back round in Equine Rescue, training and rehabilitation. Working with over 300 horses in critical condition and helping them find new life. Maya started rescuing farm animals after going vegan and co-founding a rescue group for equines/farm animals as well as wildlife and small domestic animals. She has since joined our sanctuary team!
